Naxos - Schoinousa 23-30 September 2019

  • 23 SEP 2019 - Day 1:

  • -All parties arrive in Athens

  • -Check in to Hotel Electra 4star

  • -Welcome dinner at the renowned Athenian restaurant, Kuzina. Ari Tsanaklidi, famous Greek Chef, has created a unique menu combining traditional cuisine and culinary inventiveness. Kuzinais located in the heart of Athens, in a renovated historic mansion. Not only is the food spectacular but the view of the Acropolis from the tarazza (roof garden) is breathtaking.

  • 24 SEP 2019 - Day 2:

  • -Breakfast at Athens hotel

  • -Morning departure to Naxos Island traveling first class with Blue Star Ferries (approximate travel time: 5 hours) 

  • -Check in to Nissaki 5-star Hotel a magnificent boutique hotel located in a quiet area of Naxos town, only 100m from the beach! 

  • -Culinary Class: Introduction to Naxos Traditional Cuisine  Melanes Village

  • Menu: bean soup, potato salad, Zoula braised goat with freshly made pasta and local cheese, and Karidopita walnut cake with Kaimaki  ice cream

  • -Followed by dinner in the garden 

  • -Explore Naxos town by night for coffee and drinks

  • 25 SEP 2019 - Day 3:

  • -Breakfast at hotel 

  • -Visit a local goat farm and learn how to milk a goat, an experience you’ll never forget!

  • -ExploreThe Flour Mill

  • -Forage for local herbs 

  • -Go shopping in town at market for ingredients 

  • -Demonstration of traditional bread making by Velonis

  • -Culinary Class: Condiments and Bread Making

  • Menu: bread, jams, pickles, and condiments (to be used the following day)

  • - Light lunch in the garden

  • -Dinner at a traditional Greek Taverna Giorgis, located in Melanes Village

  • 26 SEP 2019 - Day 4:

  • -Breakfast at hotel

  • -Exploreancient archeological Kouros Melanes

  • -Visit cheese factory Nikola Pitara 

  • -Culinary Class: Outdoor Cooking

  • Menu: recipes with cheese and eggs, yesterday’s bread and condiments will be used for an array of recipes 

  • -Dinner on your own (free night)

  • 27 SEP 2019 - Day 5:

  • -Breakfast at hotel

  • -Morning private boat trip to Schinousa Island with Aiolia Boat Tours 

  • -Spend the morning visiting Schinousa

  • -Culinary Class: Greek Island BBQ  Tsigouri Love” Beach

  •  Menu: fresh fish and seafood with Greek sides

  • - Enjoy a swim (weather permitting)

  • -Return to Naxos

  • -Naxos by night: street food followed by drinks at Notos Bar

  • 28 SEP 2019 - Day 6:

  • -Breakfast at hotel

  • -Alcohol factory visit, wine and kitro, Promponas Naxos Town

  • -Free time to enjoy shopping in the heart of town 

  • -Watch a spectacular sunset from the Portara of Naxos, an ancient doorway which is said to be magical 

  • -Last dinner on Naxos at a well-known traditional family restaurant Vassilis

  • 29 SEP 2019 - Day 7:

  • -Breakfast at Naxos Hotel

  • - Morning departure to Athens traveling first class with Blue Star Ferries (approximate travel time: 5 hours) 

  • -Check in Athens Hotel Electra 4star

  • -Farewell dinner at the famous seafood restaurant Argoura. Notably, named one of the best innovative seafood restaurants in Greece, Chef Niko Michail, delivers scrumptious unique gourmet food, in a modest welcoming taverna style restaurant

  • 30 SEP 2019 - Day 8: 

  • -Breakfast at hotel

  • -Explore ancient Greek history while immersed in modern Greek culture.  Visit to the Acropolis museum, Plaka, and Monastiraki (we suggest you book a afternoon flight) 

  • -All parties depart from Athens to the airport Eleftherios Venizelos
